Short Description: Adventures to wild places

Long Description: Crossing the Nullarbor is a truly Australian Experience and probably one of the world's greatest road journeys. Travellers from around the world are now discovering the many secrets that this pristine area has to offer. The journey between Adelaide and Perth is mind blowing, with spectacular coastline that is uncrowded and offers some of the best footprint free swimming and surfing beaches in Australia.

Imagine snorkelling with sea lions and dolphins at a secluded location on the Eyre Peninsula, this is one of the best wildlife experiences imaginable.

The longest cliff line in the world can be seen as you stand on the edge of the Nullarbor Plain. As if sliced with a giant's knife these 70-meter cliffs plunge into the deep blue of the Southern Ocean. It's where these towering cliffs meet the equally massive sand dunes at the Head of the Bight that sees Australia's largest grouping of Southern Right Whales. These magnificent creatures arrive in late May to mate and calve before making the long swim back to their feeding ground in Antarctica around October.

The Nullarbor is also famous for it's caves, many with lakes at the bottom. To take a swim deep beneath the Nullarbor desert is something quite out of this world.

Many travellers are surprised with the landscape, the name 'Nullarbor', coming from the Latin words Nullus and Arbor means 'no trees', however the Eyre highway only travels through a very small section of this 250,000 sq km limestone plain. A huge variety of vegetation is seen on the crossing, none more spectacular than in Western Australia.
If you are gob smacked by the time your reach Esperance, then prepare to be amazed again. The beaches here are some of the best in the world, pure white sand and crystal clear water. The near by national park has coastal walks that overlook these beaches and the 105 or so islands of the Recherche Archipelago. Whether you stick to the coast or head for a little inland you can spend plenty of time in a stack of National parks on your Westward journey through to the historic Whaling town of Albany, and the forests of the South West of W.A.

The Karri, Tingle and Jarrah forests in this area are beautiful, a reminder of what most of Australia was like 50 million years ago, hard to imagine now! Apart from the forests there is the wineries and surf culture to discover around Margaret River, canoeing on one of the many rivers or testing your nerves attempting to climb one of the famous fire lookout trees.

A Nullarbor crossing should not be rushed, take the time to discover the magic of this region untouched by mass tourism, enjoy the space, the silence and it will be an experience like no other.

Testimonials: "Thanks for a great trip, I've had a great time. It is the best way to travel from Perth to Adelaide! It really made me forget about work. The scenery was great, thanks again. Nell Haalbom, Netherlands.

"This has been a great trip. The part I was most looking forward to, the sea-lions and dolphins, was so brilliant - I want to do that again!! I'm considering becoming a pro-fisherman now as well after catching so many Tommy Ruffs. Tasty little fellas they were too, YUM! Everyday was great with spectacular scenery and bush camps. Thanks a lot! Barry, UK

"Cheers fellas! This was a great trip, no doubt the highlight so far of my time in Oz. It's been said before, but the 9 days flew by. Highlights were: cave swimming, lung-bursting hill climbs, boogie boarding on a beach from paradise and of course, swimming with the dolphins - luckily for us the dolphins saw the sharks coming when the humans couldn't! Special mention to the horror-movie scream from Rachel and the numerous fantastic mullets spotted on truckies across the plain! Thanks again and keep it going! - Chippy

"That was the first trip like this for me, but now I can tell all my friends back in Germany how the "real Australia is!! I enjoyed it so much and will never forget it! Eva, Germany.

"This trip was amazing, I had so much fun! Not even the "magic dog" can find words to describe what we saw and got to know, not even (unfortunately) our photos will do justice I guess. Everyday we did something different, everyday another challenge / experience. My Nullarbor trip will be definitely part of my portfolio of exciting stories for my grandchildren. Hopefully your trip will still be running so I can send my grandchildren as well! If you have not crossed the Nullarbor you have missed something very special. Thankyou very much for heaps of fun, the real Oz experience, the great stories, the marshmallow campfires, the great food, your good moods and motivation and so on - I actually could continue for a number of pages!" - Katrin, Germany

"thanks Conrad & Andy for a great trip. Have been waiting to do this trip for years, now, definitely worth the wait! Had a blast! Have a great many memories and hopefully some great photos. Will have to practice the hacky sack more and try to hit it. - Kathy.

"Hi Andy and Conrad, this is my second trip with "Nullarbor Traveller." In Feb '01 I went from Perth to Adelaide and vice versa. This time, though visiting some of the same places, there's heaps of new, exciting spots to see on the Adelaide to Perth trip. I recommend to plan the second trip during your next stay in Australia. Thanks for good food and well organised accommodation!" Monika, Switzerland

"Hey guys, it was a great trip! Everything I thought it would be and more By far the best trip I've ever taken and you made it possible. Thanks a million!" Love ya'll - M.E. (Missouri/Texas USA)
