Short Description: Nomads 10-Day Rockies

Long Description: The 10-day Explorer is our most popular. Day one, we stop at Shannon Falls (5th highest in Canada) and spend 1 hour learning about the Squamish Indians and their native culture (stories, songs etc.). On to world famous Whistler Village for 2 nights. Try whitewater rafting, mountain biking or go hiking. Drive north through the Coast Mountain Range to the Cariboo, BC's cowboy country for a 2 night stay at the Hill's, a dude ranch on the original Gold Rush Trail. Here you can go horseback riding for a few hours or all day. There are hot tubs, a spa and pub at the ranch. East we go to the Rockies. First stop is Mt. Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Overnight in Jasper. The next few days offer some of the most spectacular mountain and wildlife scenery anywhere as we travel the Icefield's Parkway to Banff. Stops include the Columbia Icefields (walk on the glacier!), Lake Louise (rent a canoe) and Moraine Lake (the "Jewel of the Rockies"). A free day in Baff offers a chance to go whitewater rafting, hiking or shopping in town. Finally, we stop in Kamloops on our way back to Vancouver and enjoy an evening at the Secwepemc Native Museum. Set on the site of a 2,000 year-old winter village, there's a guided tour of the indoor and outdoor exhibits, and authentic native meal and story telling. A fantastic cultural event! Last day we wander through the rugged Fraser Canyon, arriving in Vancouver in the early evening.
