Short Description: Daily sailing and power tours to Napali and Niihau
Long Description: We offer sailing and power catamarans to Kauai's Napali coast.
Napali are the second highest seacliffs in the world. A place where ancient Hawaii still exsists. You'll hear narrations about the history, culture, and ecology of this coast. You'll see 3,000ft cliffs and green valleys where waterfalls flow directly into the sea. When sea conditions permit we are within feet of these cliffs. Sea caves and rock formations unlike any other place in the world will fire your imagination.
Niihau is 18 miles from the island of Kauai, privately owned so is known as the "Forbbiden isalnd". For over 100 years the owners of this island have kept all outsiders away. Even to this day no one is allowed to land on the island without the express permission of the owners. The island is inhabited by Hawaiians of 100% Hawaiian bloodline. They live a primitive lifestyle with no electricity, running water, and speak only Hawaiian. With the absense of industry, agriculture, or development; the waters surrounding this island are the most pristine in Hawaii.
Holoholo charters were the first to take people snorkeling there and the only company that has daily tours to the island. With very strict SELF IMPOSED policies on how we interact with our environment, we plan to set an for others who follow. Since there are only a few boats that go there anyway (dive, fishing mostly), these waters have stayed pristine.
We see dolphins daily, and on our Niihau tour you have a chance of seeing whales year-round (pilot whales, melon-headed, etc). During the winter months we also see the Humback whales that migrate here from Alaska. They come here to mate and to bear thier young. There are great battles for females, as the males breach (jump) out of the water showing thier FULL body length! This becomes a daily event during the peak months of January though March. This is somehting not to miss.
Come with us and go on the only charter boat that was specificely designed to go accross the channel and deal with Hawaii's waters. We built these boats with the utmost safety in mind. The latest techniques, and space-age epoxy resins and fiberglass were used to build them.
Testimonials: "Overall, Holoholo Charters is our favorite!"-
